As we go about the business of the holiday season, it is too easy to forget about all the true need around us and around the world. We live in a world that is truly filled with needs - at home, in our communities, and in far away places like Bangladesh, China, Sudan, or Guatemala. One person cannot meet these needs by themself. But together, we can show the love of Christ and have a lasting impact on our world and change it for the better.

"Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you." James 1:27 (NLT)

What we can do:
I'm asking everyone who joins this group to commit to two things:1. Between now and Christmas - pray for at least ten minutes a day for a specific nation, people group, or ministry.

2. Donating ten dollars ($10) to a ministry that supports these worthy causes (I encourage you to give more or less as God leads you to give, but most of us won't even miss $10). I have provided links to several great organizations which are dedicated to reaching out to the poor and the orphans and the opressed in the name of Jesus. Think of the impact we could have if 1,000 people did this - 10,000 minutes of prayer a day, and 10,000 dollars ($10,000) donated to help those truly in need.
Please prayerfully consider joining us.

grace and peace in Jesus,
a slave of Christ
